ABOUT US
At Feeding and Housing the Homeless Foundation, our goal is to efficiently and effectively resolve the issues of persistent hunger and homelessness in Ghana by combining the implementation of both short-term and long-term solutions. Just as nurturing a parched garden with water ensures its survival, providing immediate relief to those in need lays the foundation for long-term growth and stability.
To briefly recap, watering wilting plants saves them from dying in the short run. On the other hand, improving the soil quality, controlling pests, and ensuring adequate sunlight will efficiently and effectively address the underlying issues that caused the plants to wilt in the first place.
It must be emphasized that without watering, the plants will not survive long enough for the soil improvements to make a difference.
Conversely, without addressing soil quality, one will be stuck in a cycle of constantly watering without solving the underlying problem.
Saving Lives Now: We will continue to provide food and shelter to address the urgent needs of those who are starving and homeless. Our goal is to prevent immediate suffering and even death because no one should have to endure hunger and homelessness, especially when solutions are within reach.
Building Trust and Credibility: When we offer immediate assistance, it builds trust within the Ghanaian community. Additionally, people see tangible results, which strengthens our reputation and paves the way for more significant, long-term initiatives. It is much easier to engage stakeholders and beneficiaries when they have witnessed genuine commitment.
Resolving Systemic Issues: In view of the fact that hunger and homelessness are symptoms of such deeper problems as poverty, unemployment, inadequate education, and lack of access to healthcare, we will continue to implement long-term solutions that will remove their root causes to prevent them from persisting for many years.
Promoting Self-Reliance: We will continue to help those who are hungry and homeless to become self-reliant by investing in education, vocational training, and economic opportunities.
Influencing Policy and Structural Change: We will continue to collaborate with all the relevant government agencies and other organizations to expedite policy reforms that address structural inequalities. Additionally, we will continue to advocate for affordable housing policies, improved healthcare systems, and better access to good quality education.
Together, we will work towards a future where no one is left hungry or homeless. With your support, we will transform these goals into tangible results.
